28th April 2004
Windsurfing: WSM Wind Direction: NNE Wind Stength: 3-6 Surf / Sea State: Flat as a witch's tit Air Temperature: 10C Sea Temperature: Very cool Weather: 100% cloud. Drizzle Max Speed: Distance Covered:
This must have been the smallest tide of the year (7.8m) - the sea never
got within 200m of the wooden posts!
Wind really gusty, cold, & slightly cross-off. Chewed the cud for ages
about going out, & what to use if I did.
Deciding that it was going to be one of those days when kit choice was
purely acedemic - whatever I was going to use would be wrong - and so it
was.
Started off with the 6.2m Vulcan on the 110l Cross which was incredibly
bouncy and mostly well overpowered. Struggled on for 1hr then - after a
couple of hair-raising (yes, I HAVE still got hair!!) tail-walks - decided
to change down to 5.5m on the 86l Goya. Was then underpowered! Oh well.
Still good to get out again after such a long time.
Water was flat with a short chop. No swell or waves to speak of. About 7
people out.
